Shoe Boxes for Romania

The school council decided that we would take part in the Link Romania Shoebox Appeal this year.

In November we followed up a suggestion made by some of our former pupils – to collect and fill shoeboxes for charity.

We decided to support Link Romania and spent two weeks collecting the gifts, boxes and wrapping paper.

On November 13th 2012 we came to school in ‘non-uniform’. The money we donated for not wearing uniform was collected to cover Link Romania’s costs in transporting the shoe boxes. We spent all day sorting, selecting gifts, filling and wrapping the shoe boxes. The final count was an amazing 85 boxes! Mrs Hymers only just managed to squeeze them into her car to take them to the local collection point!

We had a brilliant day and were really happy  that the boxes were on their way to needy families in Romainia.
